Dependable, polite, kind, loyal, caring, insightful, hardworking, honest, and approachable are all words used to describe me in a survey from three corrections officers, including my employment supervisor along with four productive adults in custody who watch me in action everyday as I learn to become a better person. This person I've become is not the person who came to prison over six years ago. Setting healthy boundaries, making the right choice of response to situations in everyday life here in prison is great practice to sharpen my life skills. I have 108 roommates to practice communication with on a daily basis. This is my first time in prison an I'm determined to make it my last and return to being a productive member of society. I'm trying to make positive connections with people, make new friends and reconnect with family I've disappointed. I need to grow in the right direction. In prison everything and everyone outside grows without you. I want to feel apart of the world outside, pictures, letters and stories about events or world news.
